Diploma Level 2 Health & Social Care | (Levels 2 To 5)

Program Content: Level 2 

A nationally and internationally recognized and flexible qualification that enables students to gain the practical skills needed to be an effective care worker. It increases student confidence, personal growth and development that provide an excellent employability in the field of Health & Social Care a best sector of Employment in the UK, Europe, USA and rest of the western world. Level 2 is a more practical base course and you will be assessed every four weeks this is through mandatory and 
optional units. Which are designed to be best suited to their experience and skill 

Who is the Course For?

For students seeking careers in the Health and Social Care industries at local, national and international levels. Students may progress to careers in social work, residential and day care,nursing and other careers in health and social care.

How will I be assessed?

Throughout the course your program will consist of workshop support and distance learning support in your workplace.

An assessor will be appointed to assess you in your workplace.

You will need to present a portfolio of your evidence for verification

Mandatory Units:

Communicate with and complete records for Individuals

Support the health and safety of yourself and Individuals

Develop your knowledge and practice

Ensure your own actions support the care protection and well being of others

Optional Units:

Students must select 4 optional units from a wide ranging list, some of which are detailed below.

Guidance will be given according to the student’s placement.

Receive and pass on messages and information

Contribute to the effectiveness of teams

Support Individuals with their personal care needs

Help individuals to eat and drink

Help Individuals to keep mobile

Undertake agreed pressure area care

Requirements:

No entry requirements needed but need to have completed level 1 (basic level) first You must be

working in a Health or Social Care setting and have at least 6 months practical experience as a Care 

Assistant/Health Care Assistant.

A partnership agreement will need to be signed by your workplace manager.

Course Duration: 6 to 18 months

Diploma Level 3 Health & Social Care

Program Content:

NVQ Level 3 provides the formal carer with recognition for the day to day care delivery they provide

to their client group.

There are 4 Core units and 4 Optional units the student can choose, which are relevant to the

workplace and their job role. You will receive NVQ Care Level 3 awarded after completion of the

course.

Promote effective communication for and about individuals

Promote, monitor and maintain health, safety and security in the working environment

Reflect on and develop your practice

Promote choice, well-being and the protection of all individuals

Optional Units:

Contribute to care planning and review

Prepare and support individuals to move and settle into new living environments

Work in collaboration with carers in the caring role

Contribute to promoting the effectiveness of teams

Requirements:

You need to have a diploma qualification or higher and have proof of this or have completed NVQ 2 but must have GCSE qualification or above.

Learning and knowledge will be assessed by professional tutors with experience in teaching the subjects and with professional care experience. Tutors will set assignments which will be used to

support the full NVQ Care Level 2 /3 assessments and provide evidence of a good knowledge base in care related subjects.

Care Practice will be assessed by fully approved and qualified Workplace Assessors. This assessment will be carried out during Phase 2 and occur within the placement workplace. Students will be expected to build up a Portfolio of Evidence which requires writing reports about their practice,answering written and oral questions and other written material. Records of Directly Observed.

Practice will be supplied by the Workplace Assessor for inclusion in the Students Portfolio.Final Assessment and presentation for the NVQ Care Level 2 / 3 Award will depend upon successful completion of the Portfolio to the standard accepted by the Qualifications Curriculum Authority covering the required components.

Course Duration: 6 to 18 months

Program Content:

A nationally recognized and flexible qualification from City and Guilds Awarding Body that enables candidates to gain a qualification that relates directly to their management role within the Care organization

The delegate must be in a management position, implementing and evaluating policies and procedures within the care establishment. This would include residential care home managers working with clients in residential, learning or physical disability homes and supported living housing. On receipt of application form and following a successful interview the delegate will be offered a place on the next available program

Assessment Guidelines

You will also be set assignments and projects to ensure that knowledge has been understood. It is a requirement that each student will compile a portfolio of evidence to meet with the standards of the award, and submit it to their allocated independent assessor, internal verifier and external verifier.You will also do an assessment in the workplace.

Course Duration: 18 months up to (a maximum of) 2 years
